Description

Accuracy International make top-quality and combat-proven sniper rifles, and their latest .338 Lapua Magnum platforms are no exception. Paired with a high-end sniper scope such as a Schmidt & Bender they set the standard for long-range accuracy. The modular AXMC design introduced in 2010 is easily taken down into a concealable package, especially when equipped with a short barrel. With armor-piercing-incendiary rounds it is effective against lightly-armored vehicles. In 2009 a British soldier set a long range record with a .338 AI rifle with a confirmed kill at 2,475 meters.

PRIMAL Assessment

The AXMC is a highly effective long-range sniper rifle that is rugged and reliable in harsh conditions. The fact that it can be taken down makes it suitable for operatives requiring a weapon system able to be concealed in a regular bag. The fact that it’s a costly piece of kit is irrelevant for PRIMAL’s well-resourced operatives. The only potential drawback is the fact that it is bolt-action and if a quicker rate-of-fire is required operatives will look at semi-automatic options.
