BMP-1

Description

The BMP-1 is a Soviet-era Infantry Fighting Vehicle. Tracked, armored and able to carry up to eight infantry, it is also equipped with a 73mm cannon and AT-3 guided missiles. In service since 1966, the BMP-1 is still seen in current conflicts. Nowadays many no longer have functional missiles or cannon. They are commonly using only the coaxial PKT machine gun of which ammunition and parts are readily available.

PRIMAL Assessment

Although antiquated the BMP-1 can still effectively transport personnel over rough terrain inaccessible to wheeled vehicles. A key weakness is its rear and side armor which are vulnerable to .50cal machine guns and other heavy-caliber weapons.
