GSG-9

Description:

GSG 9 is the premier German domestic counter-terrorism response unit. It was formed after the Munich Olympic Games terrorist incident and is capable of the full-spectrum of land, sea, and airborne operations. Their most famous mission was OPERATION FEUERZAUBER in 1977 in which they killed three terrorists and rescued hostages from Lufthansa Flight 181 in Somalia.

PRIMAL Assessment:

Nowadays GSG 9 only conducts domestic operations. Technically it is on par with other Western CT units however it can be argued that it lacks the combat experience of those units that have been fighting a high-tempo of Direct Action style missions in Iraq and Afghanistan.
