MAXIM 9

Description

Designed by suppressor specialists Silencerco the Maxim 9 is one of the first integrally suppressed pistols chambered for a full-power cartridge. It is based on a Glock-style striker-fired action that accepts Glock magazines, and utilizes Silencerco’s rectangular suppressor design. The integrated design with a 3.5inch barrel results in the Maxim 9 being almost as compact as a full-frame pistol. It is able to fire full power 9mm rounds and the suppressor is modular enabling the user to tailor the length and sound suppression.

PRIMAL Assessment

9mm pistols such as the Glock 19 and Maxim 9 have now superseded other caliber weapons in most special operations organizations, including PRIMAL. Once the design is battle-tested and proven reliable, the Maxim 9 should become highly popular giving a lower noise-signature option for a handgun. Its main limitation is its size for concealed carry situations; smaller-framed operatives may need to conceal it in a bag instead of on the body.
