Railer

Description

The man-portable railgun, or ‘railer’ is made possible with the development of ultracapacitors. Unleashing a magnetic pulse powerful enough to launch tungsten penetrators at hypervelocities, the railer relies on sheer kinetic energy to defeat most armor or obstacles. It’s an incredibly destructive and accurate weapon that is highly effective at long range and against armored targets.

PRIMAL Assessment

Railers are formidable weapons usually paired with powered suits due to their heavy weight. They lack stealth and cannot be suppressed due to their hypersonic projectiles. Additionally, the internal ultracapacitor may emit an audible whine when charging from an external power source. PRIMAL operatives may use railers in a fire support, sniper or quick reaction role.
