SMAW-D

Description

The SMAW-D is the bunker-busting variant of the AT4 single shot disposable rocket launcher. Its thermobaric warhead detonates with an intense blast effect that creates an enormous pressure wave followed by a vacuum. If victims don’t die from ruptured lungs and internal organs, they will likely suffocate. It is lethal in confined spaces making it the perfect weapon to clear houses, cave-systems, and compounds. Used by US forces in the later stages of the Afghanistan war.

PRIMAL Assessment

A capable weapon system that is limited by its disposable nature. Great for units with extensive logistics support but not so good for independent teams. PRIMAL recommends any modern variant of the RPG-7 over the SMAW-D. The RPG-7 is a more versatile alternative as it can be reloaded with a selection of munitions that include thermobaric rounds. Additionally, surplus ammunition is easy to find in the arsenals of most douche-bags the world over.
