M25 Punisher

Description

Nicknamed the ‘Punisher’, the M25 is a sophisticated grenade launcher still in development. Trials with the US Army have indicated it can be a game changer when engaging targets behind cover. Its 5 round box magazine enables the M25 to rapidly lay down suppressive firepower with airburst 25mm rounds capable of detonating above targets. Its main weakness is size and weight, roughly equivalent to the M32 multi-shot grenade launcher in service with the Marine Corps. Its fire control system is currently bulky and will improve as technology progresses.

PRIMAL Assessment

PRIMAL operatives regularly field-test the latest weapons and air-burst grenades are proving to be a game changer under the right circumstances. However, dedicated bulky grenade launchers like the Punisher may become obsolete as 40mm grenades become more advanced and an airburst capability or guided rounds become enabled in a regular more compact grenade launcher.
